Edward and Alric both earned Electrical Engineering degrees from San Jose State University after growing up in the heart of Silicon Valley. Between us, we’ve worked at leading hardware and networking companies including Apple, Ruckus Networks, Tarana Wireless, Underwriters Laboratories, Western Digital, Silver Spring Networks, and Itron.
Across our careers, we kept running into the same challenge. Hardware engineers spend countless hours manually digging through system logs to identify issues, often with minimal tooling support. We’ve experienced this pain firsthand, and we’ve seen classmates and colleagues face the same struggles. It’s a slow, frustrating process that holds back validation, affects quality, and increases pressure on teams.
We’re building a product that solves this problem directly. Our background gives us a unique edge. We’ve spent years inside hardware labs, built automation frameworks, and debugged the same types of logs engineers still face today. Every part of what we’re building is shaped by our own experience and feedback from the hardware engineering community around us.
We call it LogBuddy because the word buddy means something to us. In college, we started calling each other "buddy" mostly because we forgot each other's names. But that casual word stuck, and over time, it grew into something real. Buddies became the people we studied with, leaned on during projects, and helped one another land jobs.
Today, that same spirit drives what we’re building. We want this product to be helpful, approachable, and dependable, just like a buddy. It’s not just a tool, it’s a way to support the engineers we’ve worked alongside for years and bring our community with us on this journey.
